The Queen Bee

Written by: D’be-D’be

Taking a deep breath and making sure his tie was straight and his zipper zipped, Hotch knocked on the door and then waited a few seconds before opening it and stepping across the threshold to hell.

"Agent Hotchner," Strauss stated from behind her desk, not even looking up from her paperwork to acknowledge the man standing before her.

"Ma’am" Hotchner replied and remained standing while he waited.

Finally she looked up and pointed towards the chair. "Have a seat, Agent Hotchner. I will be with you in a minute or two. I just have to finish this report that has to be on the Director’s desk by three o'clock.”

"I understand," was Hotch's only reply as he took the seat. His dark eyes scanned the room and finally settled back onto the Supervisor’s face. He noticed that she began to squirm a little in her seat as she became aware of Hotchner’s eyes on her.

She tried to ignore those dark, piercing eyes looking her way, but when she began loosing her concentrating on the work in front of her, she gave up. Letting out a slow sigh, Straus stood up and walked around the desk until she reached the agent sitting in front of her.

Instead of taking the other chair, she chose to stand and hover over Hotchner, trying to regain some of the power she felt she’d lost by his stare.

Hotch looked at his watch and let out an impatient sigh.

"Am I keeping you from something, Agent?"

"As a matter of fact, Ma'am, you are. We just got a new case, and Agent Jereau is waiting to bring us up to speed."

"I know and that's what I want to talk to you about. I've decided to accompany you and your team on this one."

Hotchner almost chocked on his spit as the shock hit him that this woman he loathed was coming with him on this case.

"Ma'am, there's no need for you to do that. I can keep you informed on a daily basis if you wish, but...."

"I didn't give you this information to invite a discussion, Agent Hotchner. I've been given a directive from the Director that I have to become more familiar with investigation procedures, so I will be joining you. Shall we go to the debriefing?"

Hotch stood and followed her out the door. When she walked over to give her secretary instructions, Hotch took the opportunity to call Rossi. All he said was ‘Queen Bee is leaving the hive.’ He knew Rossi would understand and pass on the message to the rest of the team.

He hoped she didn’t spot him putting his phone back in his shirt pocket as she walked towards him. If she did, she didn’t acknowledge it. Hotch didn’t say a word in the elevator, instead he just starred straight ahead. He knew this was annoying the Supervisor to no end and he loved it. It felt like the longest elevator ride in history. Finally the doors opened and always the gentleman, Hotch stood aside to let Straus exit first. She didn’t even nod a thank you.

‘What a Bitch!’ Hotch thought as he followed her up the stairs to the debriefing room. His team looked up just as Strauss walked in. Their eyes went to Hotch and gave their Unit Chief a sympathetic look.

Rossi stood and held out his hand. “To what do we owe this pleasure, Erin?” he asked, getting joy out of the pissed off look in her eyes at the gall of Rossi to address her by her first name and not her title.

Instead of answering the Senior Agent, she turned to Hotchner. “Please explain my presence to your team, Unit Chief.” The people around the table couldn’t help but hear her condescending tone.

Hotch walked around the table to stand in front of the room. “Supervisor Strauss will be joining us on this assignment. She informed me that she will be in an observatory role only and I am still in charge of the team.” He waited for any questions or comments then after receiving neither, he turned to JJ. The floor is yours, Agent.”

Jereau cleared her throat before turning her gaze towards the observation screen on the wall. With a click of the remote, a picture of an obviously a dead man came up. He appeared to be in his mid-thirties or early forties and was lying face up on the ground of a dark alley. A rainbow flag was draped over his naked form.

The blond media liaison began her summation. “Phil Victors, age 41, was found last night by a local security guard making his hourly rounds. Mr. Victors was beaten severely around the face and torso and he was castrated. It is unknown at the present time if the castration was done post modem or if the victim was still alive.”

“Have the local authorities figured out the significant of the rainbow flag?” Dr. Spencer Reid asked.

“The area where Victors was found is reportedly the local area of the gay community. This is starting to look like a hate crime,” she answered.

“Why are we being called in?” Derek Morgan asked.

“Well it seems the Mobile Police Department didn’t think they had a problem in that area until Mr. Victors turned up. It seems he is the fourth victim of this un-sub.”

“Well ladies and gentlemen,” Hotch stated as he stood up. “Grab your go-bags, we’re heading for Alabama.”

Strauss didn’t say a word as she looked around at the team. Instead she did as the others by grabbing her suitcase and heading out the door.

****************************

On the jet, she sat by herself working on some paperwork. This suited the rest of the team just fine as they sat around discussing strategy.

“Rossi, you and I will go the crime scene,” Hotch began laying out their assignments. “JJ, I want you to start making contact with the local press. The rest of you go check in with the local department and get things set up.” He then turned to Strauss, who had stopped what she was doing to listen to Hotchner. “Do you wish to go the hotel and check us in Ma’am?” he asked.

“No, Agent Hotchner, I do not. I will accompany you and Agent Rossi to the crime scene.”

“Suit yourself. Emily, will you check us in before you join Morgan and Reid?”

“Anything you say, Boss,” Prentess gave Hotchner her most endearing smile. Hotch gratefully returned it; well half a smile at least.

“Okay, people, take the time we have before we land to relax and get your head wrapped around this case,” he ordered before turning to Rossi. “May I have a word in private with you, David?”

“Of course, Hotch,” Rossi replied as he led the way to the back seats.

When they were alone, Hotch leaned in and spoke in a low voice so their conversation couldn’t be overheard. "I don’t think it would be a wise move for us to be together this trip, not with HER around.”

“Nonsense, we will still have adjoining rooms and we’ll be discreet. I’m not going to let her spoil our time together.”

“But….” Hotchner began to protest.

“No buts about it. The subject is not up for debate. Now why don’t you close your eyes and get a little shut eye? Because I can almost guarantee you won’t be getting too much sleep tonight.” Rossi gave Hotch a quick wink and let out a slow chuckle as he noticed his Brat’s face turn crimson. What Hotch didn’t realize was that the moment he and Rossi moved to the back, Strauss hadn’t taken her eyes off the pair. She suspected something about their relationship but couldn’t quiet put her finger on it. She convinced herself that she would by the time the case was solved.

***************************

Rossi led the way down the alley way, with Hotch close behind and Strauss taking up the rear. Detective Sloan was waiting for them and after the introductions were complete, he filled the FBI Agents in on the details.

“Just down the street is a bar called ‘Over the Rainbow’. It’s a local hangout for the gay element. According to witnesses, Victors left the bar around 12:30 am with another man. They looked cozy. The waitress stated although Victors was a regular, the man he left with had only started coming in four weeks ago; just around the time the first murder took place.”

“Can she describe this man?” Hotch asked.

“Not really. She stated the place is always crowed on the weekends and she doesn’t pay attention to the men who come in there. She confessed she pays more attention to the women. All she could tell me for sure is that he was white, blond, and around six feet. I’m sending a couple of my officers there tonight to question some of the locals to see if they can be any more help.”

“Thank you, Detective.” Hotch turned to his partner. “Rossi, do you mind taking a look at this bar and talk to the staff once more. I, along with Supervisor Strauss, will accompany the detective back to the squad room to up-date the rest of the team.”

Detective Sloan sensed a slight reluctance in the woman’s part, but she just nodded then made her way to the squad car.

*****************************

Rossi stood in the entry way of the dimmed bar room to allow his eyes to adjust. The sound of a country love song was coming from the surround sound speakers mounted on the ceiling. He saw two men dancing in the corner, holding on to each other in romantic embrace as their bodies swayed to the beat of the bass guitar. How he envied their openness. If only he could take Hotch out in public like this, but for right now he knew that was impossible.

He spotted the bartender coming from the back carrying an empty beer case. She stopped picking up the empty bottles to stare back at the man standing by the doorway.

“May I help you, mister?” she asked.

“I hope you can. Are you the bartender who was duty the last night when Phil Victor was here?”

“What’s it to you anyway? Are you a scorn lover or something?”

“No, I’m the FBI and I’m looking into the murder, or should I say murders that have been taking place around here.”

“Oh, you mean someone is finally giving a damn about what is going on in our community?”

Rossi sat down on one of the barstools and asked if he could have a beer. The lady told him the bar wasn’t open yet but she offered him a cup of coffee. Rossi stated that would be fine. After taking a sip of the hot liquid, he took out his note book and began his questioning.

“I know the gay community feels ignored by the local police department, but believe me there are some in the force that recognize the possibility of there being a serial killer out there targeting gay men. I can reassure you the FBI will do everything to bring this unknown subject to justice.”

Sensing Rossi’s sincerity, she relaxed and joined him in a cup of coffee. “Okay, Agent, ask away.”

“You told Detective Sloan that Victors was a regular, right?”

“Yes, he called in every night after work to see if he could take something home for dessert.”

“How did that work out for him?”

“Well let’s just say his sweet tooth was being satisfied on a regular basis.”

Rossi let out a chuckle as his eyes once again fell on the couple dancing in the corner. “Are those two regulars as well?”

“Oh yeah, Mark and Adam are here almost every night. They own the place.”

“Do you think it would be possible to speak with them?”

“Sure.” She reached under the bar to turn down the music so the men could hear themselves being summoned.

“Hey boys, you got company. Come over and say hello to ….. What’s your name again?”

Rossi realized he had forgotten to show his identification, so he pulled out his ID and placed it on the bar. “I’m David Rossi, Special Agent with the Behavior Analysis Unit of the FBI.”

“Boys, come over and say hello to David Rossi, FBI.”

The two men came over to him with hands outstretched. “Welcome to ‘Over the Rainbow’, Agent. My name is Adam Curtis and this is my partner, both in life and in business, Mark Pavilion.”

Rossi shook their offered hands. “It’s a pleasure. Do you mind answering a couple of questions about Victors?”

“Not at all, we’re appalled that these men are being lured out of our bar by some madman. We will cooperate in every way possible.”

“We were told that Victors was a regular but the man he left with was fairly new to the place, is that right?”

“That’s absolutely right, handsome,” Adam offered. “I think I first spotted the young man about four or five weeks ago.”

“Did anything about this new man strike you as odd? Did something he wore, said or do, stand out to you?”

The two men looked at each other for a few moments. It seemed to Rossi as if they were deciding whether to divulge some information.

Finally Mark shrugged. “Well, David, is it okay if I call you David?” When Rossi nodded in the affirmative, Mark continued. “Well David, Adam and I also take notice of new men who come in here. We watch them for a little while just to make sure that they’re not here to make trouble or cause a scene of some kind. What we noticed about this man is that he had a particular type.”

“A particular type? What type would that be?” Rossi asked.

“He went after dark-haired men with dark brown eyes, who were well-groomed and well put together,” Adam responded this time.

“I particularly noticed,” Mark added, “because as you can see, Adam just described himself to a ‘T’ and I was going to make sure to protect what’s mine.”

Rossi’s lips curved into a grin as he thought how he would do the same if he and Hotch came in here, because the un-sub’s type also described Rossi’s partner to a ‘T’ as well.

“So he singled Victors out?”

“You could say that. He would roam around the place just looking and if his type came in, he made his move. Some nights all we had in here were blonds or red heads, so he wouldn’t stay long. Other nights, all we had in here were brunettes and that’s when he’d really start cruising until his pick-up line and charm hit home with a certain individual.”

Rossi wrote this information down in his notebook then placed it along with his pen in his jacket inside pocket. Next he pulled out his card and asked the men if they spotted that man in here again, to call the local precinct and ask for himself or Det. Sloan.

“Are you sure you can’t stay for a drink? It’s on the house,” Adam invited, giving Rossi a real look over.

“Thank you, but I’m on duty. I’d like a rain check, if that’s possible?”

“Whenever it’s convenient, David. We’re usually always here from opening to close.”

Rossi thanked them again as he shook their hands. He left the bar and made his way back to the station.

**************************

Meanwhile back at the station the rest of the team was looking over the case files. Strauss was studying the evidence board. She kept looking at the pictures of the victims. Something was nagging at her about them but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. When Hotchner came over to stand beside her, it suddenly hit her. All the victims held a very strong resemblance to Aaron Hotchner. They were all tall, with dark hair and dark brown eyes. Their hair even fell over their foreheads in just the same manner as Hotchner’s did. Even their manner of dress matched the agents. She looked around for an empty office. Locating one in the corner, she asked the Unit Chief to join her.

‘What did I do now?’ Hotch thought as he followed his supervisor into the office. He wasn’t expecting the words that came out of her mouth.

“Agent Hotchner, have you ever done undercover work?”

“Yes, when I was in the Seattle field office I did some undercover work involving a drug operation. Why do you ask?”

“Well, I don’t know if you’ve really studied the victims’ pictures but if you do, you will notice you meet the profile. I believe that this un-sub is after a particular looking man and I’m wondering if you would be willing to go undercover at the ‘Over the Rainbow’ bar and see if the un-sub will pick you up?”

Hotchner sat there in silence, absorbing what she had suggested. The thought of going undercover excited him. It was a chance to do more than just profile. He would have a one-on-one chance to nab the un-sub in action. “I think that’s a great idea, Supervisor. I think I may enjoy it.”

“Do you think you wouldn’t be too uncomfortable in a gay bar?”

Hotch was very careful in his answer. He wasn’t quite sure if this woman had just suggested he go undercover to set a trap for him. He was almost positive she didn’t suspect that he was gay, but he wasn’t 100% sure either.

“Uh….well maybe a little bit, but that may prove to our advantage. If the un-sub sees me as insecure, he may think I’m vulnerable and open to his charms.”

“That’s a good point, Aaron.” She moved to stand in front of him. “You know this may be dangerous. This man has a hate for the gay element and you would have to lead him on a little and follow him out of the bar. We would have to catch him in the process of the crime. If we arrest him at the bar, he could plead entrapment.”

“I understand that, Supervisor Strauss, but I can take of myself and the rest of the team will be close by.”

*******************************

Rossi entered the squad room and looked around the room for Hotch. Not finding him, he walked over to Morgan and asked him where the Unit Chief was.

“He had a private conversation with Strauss then stated he was going back to the hotel.”

“Did he say why he was going back to the hotel?”

“Not a word. I guess you’ll have to ask Strauss.”

“I’ll just do that. Thanks, Derek.”

Rossi walked into the room where Strauss was, without knocking.

“May I help you, Agent?”

“Do you know why Hotch went back to the hotel?”

“Yes, I do. He’s gone to get ready to go the ‘Under the Rainbow’ bar. I’m sending him undercover.”

“You’re what?”

Strauss noticed that Rossi’s voice rose in anger. “I’m not sure if you’re aware of this fact or not, Agent Rossi, but the victims all have a resemblance to Agent Hotchner. That is why I suggested he go under cover at the bar to see if we can lure the un-sub out into the open.”

“You ordered him to put himself in danger?” Again Rossi’s voice was tempered with anger.

“I did not order him, David. I merely mentioned it to him and he jumped at the idea.”

The thought of Aaron being placed in danger made Rossi’s heart pound with fear. “Well I want you to get him back here and tell him there has been a change in plans. We’ll come up with another way to catch this scumbag.”

“Are you suggesting that Agent Hotchner can’t handle himself? After all, he is a seasoned agent with a lot of experience and training.”

“I’m not saying Aaron can’t handle himself, Erin. What I am saying is, I don’t think it’s wise to place him in a situation where there is such a definite change of danger.”

“Oh dear God, I have another Gideon on my hands.”

“What does that mean?”

“He was also very protective of Agent Hotchner. Why do you feel you have to protect him, Agent Rossi? Is there something you wish to share with me?”

Rossi took a deep breath. He had let his fear for Hotchner’s safety show in his voice. He was going to have to be more careful. “Look, I’d feel the same if any member of the team was going undercover with no plan in place. I guess I’m a little more concerned over Hotch because he has a son who needs him.” Rossi hoped that reasoning explained his concern.

“Well, Agent Rossi, I feel we have the best chance of catching this un-sub by sending Agent Hotchner in. I suggest you and your team get plan in order. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some work to finish up.”

Rossi stared her down for a minute and as he left the room he turned to her and stated, “You know something, Strauss? You were a bitch when I was here ten years ago and now that they promoted you, you’ve become the ‘Queen Bitch’.” He didn’t wait for her response; nor did he look back at her reaction to his comment. He simply walked out and told the team he’d be back. He then left for the hotel to have a talk with his Brat.

Had he looked back, Rossi would have noticed the satisfied smug look on the woman’s face. She had hit a nerve and she was feeling very proud of herself.

*********************

Rossi found Hotch in his room, getting dressed for his rendezvous with the un-sub. The younger man had on a black pair of jeans, a white shirt with an open collar and a black leather blazer. On his feet he was sporting black leather boots. Rossi felt a stir in his loins as he took in the sexy sight in front of him.

“Hi, Dave. Do you think I look good enough to entice a psychopath?”

“Definitely! Too bad you went to all the expense and time getting ready, because you’re not going.”

“What do you mean, I’m not going? Of course I’m going. As a matter of fact, I’m excited about going undercover.”

“That may be, Aaron, but I forbid you to go. We can send in one of the local cops.”

“Don’t you think I can take of myself?”

“It’s not a matter of whether you can do it or not. The point is, I’m not allowing you to try.”

Hotch got his dander up as he began to pace back and forth. “Look, Dave, I can do this. I want to do it and I don’t think you have the right to stop me. Now I’m going back to the station and work out a plan of action with the rest of the team. If you want to join us, fine. If you don’t, that’s fine too. As your Unit Chief, I’m telling you I’m going; end of discussion.”

“So that’s the way you want it, is it? You want to play king of the mountain?” Rossi noticed Hotch’s face pale a little as the older man moved closer. “Well my precious Brat, I’m here to remind you that Top out ranks Unit Chief. If you want push to come to shove, I think we both know the outcome of that little game, don’t we?”

Hotch sat down on the side of the bed, his eyes downcast. He sat there for a moment, his mind racing and trying to think of a way he could make this work. Suddenly it came to him. He’d let Rossi think he gave in to his order. After Rossi left he would call Morgan to get a plan together for an undercover sting. He would go directly to the bar and wait for the un-sub to make his move. After the killer was caught, Rossi would see how he handled himself and he would realize he was wrong in his order for Hotch to stay away from the bar. It would all work out, but Hotch would soon learn to regret making that plan.

Hotch looked up at his Top and gave him a warm smile. “You’re right, David. You’re the boss and I’m sorry I tried to use my position as the team leader to make my point. I’ll call Strauss and tell her to choose someone else.”

Rossi sat down next to his Brat and placed an arm around his shoulder. “I’m glad you see in my way, baby. By the way, you look damn sexy in those threads so don’t return them. I’m sure we can find some other use for them.”

Hotch smiled again as he placed his head onto Rossi’s shoulder. Rossi placed a finger under Hotch’s chin so he could plant a warm lingering kiss on his lips. Their lips pressed together in hot passion and Rossi’s hand roamed down to give Hotch a ‘promise of things to come’ squeeze. Hotch let out a moan as his body responded to Rossi’s touch.

Rossi pushed away and removed his hand. “We don’t have time for this right now, but don’t forget where we left off so we can pick this up later.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t forget,” Hotch replied as he watched Rossi get up and make his way to the door.

“Okay, Aaron, why don’t you get changed while I head back to the station? Meet me back there and we’ll all work out a plan, okay?”

“Okay.”

Rossi wasn’t out the door three seconds when Hotch picked up the phone to call Strauss and tell him he was on his way to the bar and that she should get the team together to work out a back-up plan. Hotch knew if he went back to the police station as ordered, Rossi wouldn’t let him leave. He’d have to trust Rossi and the team to come up with a plan so his back would be covered. He realized he wasn’t giving them much time, but time was running out on some innocent man out there and Hotch didn’t want to waste any more valuable time.

****************************

Emily Prentess looked up as Rossi walked up to her. She was on the speaker phone with Garcia and he overheard the tech specialist say something about being able to keep track of Hotch by using the GPS on his cell.

“What is she talking about, Emily? Why does she have to keep track of Hotch?”

Prentess gave Rossi a confused look. Surely he knows about the sting operation. She was about to answer him when Morgan piped in.

“Hotch just called. He’s just walking into the bar now. Prentess, you go over and join him. Remember sit at the bar and keep on eye on things. Strauss and I will be in the SUV observing who comes and goes. We’ll also be ready to follow Hotch if and when he leaves the bar. Sweet Stuff, when we get in place I’ll contact you about the tracking, okay?”

“Whatever you say, sugar,” Garcia replied.

“Rossi, shouldn’t you be at your position?”

Rossi was having a very difficult time keeping his anger in check. That Brat of his had deliberately disobeyed his orders by playing sweet and agreeable until the minute Rossi was out of the room, then he kept on doing exactly what he was forbidden to do.

‘Those pants better have a nice cushion seat in them,’ Rossi thought. ‘Because when I get Hotch alone, he’s going to need some extra padding to enable him to sit comfortably.’

“I’d be in my position if I knew where that was?” Rossi snapped out.

“Oh I’m sorry, Dave. I thought Hotch would have filled you in. Reid and you are to be at the bar. The owners worked it out that you could sit in their office and observe events through the security system.”

“Reid can do that. I’m going to be sitting at the bar along with Emily.”

“Sir, no offense, but you were already there and they know you are an FBI agent. If the un-sub is tipped off, that might ruin the plan.”

“The only ones there when I was were the bartender and the owners, so I don’t think there’s too much chance for disclosure.”

“But Hotch’s orders are…..” Morgan tried to continue but Rossi cut him off.

“I don’t give a damn what Hotch’s orders are. I’m sitting in the bar and that’s final!”

“Fine, suit yourself. You’ll have to take it up with Hotch, because I’m not getting involved with that.”

“Oh don’t worry, Derek. I definitely plan on taking this matter up with Hotch the minute I get a change.”

Prentess gave Reid an ‘I wouldn’t want to be in Hotch’s shoes’ look as he joined the discussion. Reid gave her an understanding nod. By Rossi’s tone he had a feeling that discussion would not be a pleasant one for their Unit Chief.

Strauss came out of her office. “Okay, team, let’s role. Agent Hotchner is waiting.”

“Come on, Spencer. Let’s get going,” Rossi ordered as he followed Strauss out the door.

*****************************

Hotch hung up from speaking to Prentess as he walked into the bar. He had to admit he was a little nervous. He had never been in a gay bar before so he didn’t know what to expect or how to act. He let his eyes adjust to the darkness of the room. When they had, he looked around for a corner table. A tall dark haired man walked over to him and took his hand.

“Hi there, my name is Adam and you must be Aaron. Your friend Derek told me to expect you.”

Hotch appreciated the co-owner’s discretion. In a very subtle way, he was letting Hotch know that he knew about the operation and that everything was in place.

“Come and sit yourself down at the best table in the place. It is strategically placed so you can see and be seen. What can I get you from the bar?”

“A beer would be nice. Whatever you have on tap will be fine.” Hotch took his seat and let his eyes scan the room. There were male couples dancing to their favorite country tunes, while others were making out in the corner. He observed some couples making their way to a back room and could only imagine what was going on behind those heavy black curtains. Four women were sitting at the bar deep in conversation, while others were just sitting around looking for some action.

The door opened and Hotch’s heart began to pound loudly in his chest as he observed Rossi make his way into the room.

Rossi gave Hotch a cold stare as he made his way to the bar.

A few seconds later the door opened again as Prentess walked in. She didn’t even glance Hotch’s way but she made sure she gave the women at a corner table a warm smile.

Hotch began to sweat as he felt Rossi’s eyes barring into the back of his head. He turned to give him a smile and a wink.

Rossi lifted his glass and gave it a tap on the side. His meaning was so obvious, Hotch almost jumped out of his seat and run for the door. He managed to calm himself down however. He knew he had to focus on the here and now, so he did his best to get Rossi out of his mind.

Hotch was sitting for about a half an hour and three men had tried to hit on him. Knowing they didn’t fit the profile, Hotch smiled as sweetly as he could and politely turned them down. Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder. Rossi held his hand out and asked him to dance. Hotch hesitated at first but decided it was a perfect cover to discuss whether they should stay or call it a night. As the words of ‘Amazed’ by Lonestar rang through the speakers, Hotch allowed Rossi to lead him across the dance floor. For the rest of the team’s sake, they pretended to be awkward as to who was going to lead.

Reid smiled to himself, as did Prentess when Rossi took the lead and pulled Hotch close by wrapping his arms around his Brat’s waist. Hotch wrapped his arms around Rossi’s neck and dropped his head on his Top’s shoulder. They moved in perfect rhythm with the beat of the music. Rossi’s hands moved up and down Hotch’s back as he whispered in his left ear.

To anyone who observed the pair, it looked like the older man was whispering sweet nothings into the other’s ears. “I’m not sure the un-sub is going to show up tonight, Hotch. We’ll give it thirty more minutes and if he doesn’t show up by then, we’ll call it a night.”

“Dave, I’m sorry I disobeyed…”

Rossi cut him off. “We’ll discuss that later. Right now, let’s concentrate on catching this scumbag.” He moved his hands down to cup Hotch’s backside and pull him closer.

“What are you doing? Everyone is looking, especially Prentess and Reid.”

“Don’t worry about it. They’ll just think we’re really getting into the part.”

The song finally ended. The two men pulled apart and after a deep stare of promises to come, they parted ways. Hotch returned to his table and ordered another beer. Rossi joined Prentess at the bar.

“Wow, that was hot!” she stated. “You two looked awesome together.”

“Think we convinced everyone we belong in here?”

“I’d say mission accomplished.”

They shared a laugh as they noticed a tall dark haired man approach their Unit Chief. He fit the profile to a ‘T’.

Reid notified Strauss and Morgan about the possibility of the un-sub approaching Hotchner. The whole team went on higher alert, ready to move into action when needed.

**************************

Hotch looked up at the man standing in front of him.

“Hi there, cutie. I couldn’t help but notice what a great dancer you are. May I buy you a drink?”

“Uh…sure… beer on tap please.”

The stranger motioned to the waiter as he sat down. “My name is Colin. What’s yours?”

“Uh….my…uh….it’s Aaron.”

“Are you nervous, Aaron?”

“It shows eh? I’m sorry but I’m new in the gay bar scene.”

“Just came out did you?”

“No, I’ve been out for a while now but I was with someone for a long time. He recently left me, so now I have to start the dating game all over again. I’m afraid I’m not very good at this it.”

“Well, Aaron, you don’t have to be nervous with me. I promise you’ll have a good time this evening.” He reached over and brushed the hair off the agent’s forehead then ran a finger down his cheek.

“You are one sexy individual, Aaron. Those dark eyes of yours are really turning me on.”

Hotch conveniently blushed at the complement and cast his eyes down in a humble and shy gesture as he mumbled, “Thank you.”

The man then placed his hand on Hotch’s leg and began to rub it in a sensuous manner. Before Hotch could stop him, he placed his hand between his legs and gave Hotch a squeeze.

It took everything Rossi had, not to jump off the stool and punch the scumbag in the face. ‘Control yourself, Rossi! Don’t blow this sting.’

“Hey Aaron,” the un-sub huskily whispered. “What do you say to you and me blowing this joint?”

“Where do you want to go?”

“My apartment is only a few blocks away. Let’s take a walk in the moonlight to my place.”

“A walk in the moonlight; sounds romantic.”

“Oh yeah. Come on, sweetness, what do you say?”

“I say let’s go.” Hotch let the man pay the bar bill then taking his outstretched hand, he allowed himself to be led out the door.

*********************************

“Heads up, Ma’am,” Morgan told Strauss as he observed Hotch being led down the walkway.

They watched the stranger put his arm around Hotch’s waist as they walked away from the bar. Morgan started the engine while Strauss alerted Garcia to keep a diligent eye on the agent’s GPS.

In a few moments they spotted Rossi and Prentess leave the premises to tailgate the two men. Morgan pulled out and slowly made his way down the street.

As Hotch and the un-sub approached an alley, Colin pushed him against the wall. His kind, sensuous manner abruptly turned into that of a belligerent, angry animal.

“You queer son of a bitch! You can’t wait to get your tight little ass fucked, can you? Well I have a surprise for you, sugar. Not only are you going to get yourself fucked, you’re going to get the beating of your life to go along with it. Then after I’m done with you, I’m sorry to say I’m going to take your manhood away from you.”

Hotch began struggling with him, but the un-sub proved to be stronger than he looked. Hotch felt a hard punch land on his left cheek, knocking him back against the alley wall. His breath was taken away as that blow was followed by two quick punches to the stomach.

“You pansies are always teasing us straight guys with your tight pants and come on looks to try to bring us into your world. Well it’s my responsibility to get rid of every one of you tempting whores.”

“Look Mister, you’re the one who came on to me. I think you really want to experience sex with a man.” Hotch spit his words out between gasps of pain.

“You little asshole!” Once again Hotch felt the blow of a hard slap across the face. “I’m going to enjoy doing you more that I did the others. They were begging and crying at this point, but you’re trying to stand up to me. I think there’s a real man hiding behind your sickening lifestyle.”

He smacked Hotch again then began pulling at his jeans. He had the belt undone and the zipper pulled down when he heard a click. He stopped what he was doing and slowly turned around to see five FBI Agents with guns drawn, standing in the entrance of the alley.

“If I were you,” Prentess shouted, “I’d step away from that man and get on your belly with your hands stretched out in front of you.”

The un-sub hesitated for a moment, but it was long enough for Hotch to grab him behind the neck to push him to the ground.

“You heard the lady, scumbag, on your belly. By the way, if you haven’t figured it out, I’m an undercover FBI Agent as well. We set a trap for you and like the perverted sub-human you are, you fell right into it.”

Morgan threw his handcuffs over to the Unit Chief who cuffed the un-sub, all the while reading him his rights.

As Morgan, Prentess and Reid hauled the screaming man away, Strauss and Rossi approached the dark haired agent leaning against the wall. He was bleeding from the corner of his mouth and a dark bruise was beginning to form on his cheek.

“Well, Agent Hotchner, you did a fine job capturing our predator. It’s too bad he messed up your face in the process.”

Rossi did his best to keep his shaking hand from showing as he handed Hotch a handkerchief. “Here, wipe the blood off.”

“Thanks.” Hotch accepted the linen cloth but didn’t look up at his Top. If he did, he knew he would begin to cry. What he wanted more than anything right now is to be taken into Rossi’s arms to stop his body from shaking. Unfortunately, with Strauss hanging around, that was impossible.

“Fine, now that you have yourself somewhat cleaned up, what do you say we go back to the station so we can wrap up this case?” Her voice was cold and unsympathetic as she turned on her heels only to stop in mid-stride to look at Hotch over her shoulder. “Oh and by the way, Agent Hotchner, please do us a favor and zip up before you leave the alley.”

Hotch felt his face turn red in both anger and embarrassment. Silently he did what he was told. Rossi put a comforting arm around his shoulder as they walked back to the SUV. “You sure you’re okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?”

“Hell no, I’ve sustained worse beatings than this. I’ll be fine. Let’s just get back to the station and get our final report done as quickly as possible so I can get back to the hotel and soak in a hot tub.”

“Sounds like a plan. But before you go slipping into that hot water, you and I have another matter to take care of.”

‘Dave, come on. I’m injured and besides, I got the un-sub. Surely you’re not still considering carrying out my punishment now?”

“Like you said, you’re not that badly injured and yes, I am not only considering it, I’m going to do it. Now if you know what’s good for you, close that mouth of yours, stop your arguing, and get in the car.”

Strauss noticed how quiet Hotchner was all the way back to the station but kept her observation to herself. The report took about 45 minutes to complete. After the thank-you and good-byes were said, everyone left for the hotel for a few hours shut eye before departing for DC. Usually they would fly back right after the case was closed, but the jet was being refitted with a new part so they were laid over for the night.

**************************

Rossi waited until he knew Hotch was in his room before unlocking the door that separated their rooms. He found Hotch waiting for him in the easy chair by the window. He saw Hotch’s Adam’s apple bob up and down in dread as he spotted the paddle in Rossi’s hand.

“You….you packed the paddle?” he asked in a shaky voice.

“You bet I did. Now I want you to get up, remove your jeans and undershorts then lean over the back of that armchair please. I will not ask again.”

Hearing that familiar tone in Rossi’s voice, Hotch knew his goose was cooked. Without further arguments or stall tactics, he did as he was told.

Rossi took up his position behind his Brat, placed his left hand on the younger man’s back then raised his right hand.

Hotch gave out a moan as the first blow made contact with bare skin. He jumped and groaned at each contact. His rear cheeks began to burn as wood hit skin almost at the same time as his facial cheeks began to burn and tears fell from his eyes.

“Tell me why I had to use the paddle on you, Aaron?”

“I deliberately and without thought or respect, disobeyed a direct order from you.”

“That’s partly it. What’s the other part?” Rossi asked as two more slaps reined down.

“I lied and deceived you.”

“That’s right. And……”

“I put my life at risk.”

“Very good,” Rossi stated as he gave Hotch’s red and blistering backside four more wallops.

Hotch’s legs began to give way with the pain of each slap. He laid his head down on the headrest and began to weep. Loud sobs shook his body and cries of “I’m sorry….please stop” escaped from his lips.

Rossi threw the paddle down and turned Hotch around for an embrace. “There, there, my love. It’s all over. It’s okay, cry it all out.”

Hotch clung to his Top for about twenty minutes.

When Rossi figured the tears were starting to subside, he led Hotch to the front of the chair so he could sit and pull Hotch onto his knees.

The two men sat there in silence. Hotch had his head on Rossi’s shoulder, while Rossi had his arms tightly wrapped around Hotch’s waist.

Breaking the silence Rossi stated, “Okay, Aaron, when we get back home you’re to write a five page essay on the consequences of dishonesty. It’s to be in long hand, not typed, and it has to be letter perfect, no graphical errors and your writing better be legible. Is that clear?”

“Yes sir.”

“Good. Now why don’t we take that bath you mentioned earlier?”

“That sounds great.”

As they walked into the bathroom together and Rossi began preparing the bath, Hotch knew all was forgiven. After the bath, they cuddled together for a while. Then after a hot passionate session of love making, fell asleep in each other’s arms.

************************

On the jet the next day, Hotch was finishing up the paperwork when Strauss approached him. Without being invited, she sat across from him. “Agent Hotchner….Aaron….I know you and I don’t always see eye to eye, but I want you to know you did a great job out there.”

“Thank you, Ma’am. I appreciate your honesty.”

“Fine! Now, I hope you don’t mind filling out this form for me.” She handed him an official government looking document. He noticed after scanning the text that it was an evaluation form about her work in the field and that it was addressed to the Director. It was already filled out and all Hotch had to do, was sign it.

“Ma’am, I can’t honestly sign this form.”

“And why the hell not?” she bristled

“I didn’t fill it out. I will be more that happy to send an evaluation report to the Director about your conduct in the field with my own comments.”

“Are you saying you don’t agree with everything I put down there?”

“I didn’t say that, Ma’am. What I am saying, is that I refuse to sign anything that is already filled out.”

“Fine! Never mind, I’ll give him my report without this form but I want you to know I won’t forget your unwillingness to cooperate with me.”

“Ma’am, as I stated I am more than willing….”

“Forget it, Agent,” Strauss sneered as she stood up, grabbing the form out of Hotch’s hand at the same time. She stomped away in a huff, mumbling under her breath and almost knocking Rossi over as he made his way down the aisle to join Hotch.

“What the hell was that all about?” he asked.

“She wanted me to do a dishonest thing, but I’ve learned my lesson about being dishonest and deceitful.” Hotch smiled as he positioned himself to relieve some of the still burning sensation in his butt.

Rossi smiled as he commented, “Remind me to go shopping for a crown when we get back.”

“A crown? Whatever for?”

“Next week is Strauss’s birthday and I’m going to buy her the crown she most dearly deserves as ‘Queen of the Bitches’.”

They shared a laugh together as the jet made its way back to DC where Hotch was sure another case awaited them.

Finally

Written by: D’be-D’be

The case was over and everyone was heading home. Hotch boarded the jet first and walked directly to the back, threw his briefcase in one of the overhead bins and then plopped himself in one of the leather double-sized seats. He was exhausted. This case was another difficult one; one where he had to force Garcia to go beyond her general duties and become a profiler. Also, there were so many unnecessary deaths by arson. They had been caused by a young man who had not only seen his mother die in a fire, but was treated horribly by the town and forced to be live without his sister, the only person he’d ever loved. The stressor came when his beloved sister married. He once again felt betrayed and abandoned. His only outlet was fire and he used it well.

Hotch heard the others board as his eyes closed. Their movements as they settled in became just an echo of whispers and motion. Just before sleep took him, he reminded himself to thank Garcia personally for her work in this case. He also smiled to himself at what awaited him at Rossi’s place.

Rossi made his way to the back of the jet as well and settled in a seat across from Hotch. He took out his notebook and began his report.

Prentess and Reid began their ongoing card game while Morgan settled down to listen to his favorite tunes. J.J. took out her laptop in order to catch up on her personal e-mails and Facebook updates.

Rossi looked up from his notebook to glance over at his sleeping Brat. He noticed by his facial and body movements, that Hotch was dreaming. When he began to moan and thrash about, Rossi was positive the dream had turned into a nightmare. He put pen and pad down to prepared himself for the inevitable. Anytime now, Hotchner was going to spring up in the seat with a scream on his lips. Sure enough, within seconds just as predicted, Hotch abruptly shot up, his body covered in sweat and a loud scream escaping his lips.

“No…..No……get away…..don’t…..don’t!”

The team stopped what they were doing and gave their team leader concerned looks. They didn’t run to his side however, because they knew Rossi would have the matter well in hand.

“Easy, Aaron, easy; it’s okay. It was just a nightmare. Easy…..ssh…. have a drink of water.”

Hotch reached out for the glass, his hands trembling so bad some water spilled out and made a small puddle between them. Rossi covered Hotch’s hands with his own as he lifted the crystal glass to his lips once more.

When the glass was empty, Rossi took it from his Brat’s hands and placed in on the seat tray to his right. He then got up to sit next to Hotch who was still visibly shaken.

“Man, what a dream! I haven’t had that dream in a long time. I guess this case brought back some old memories.”

“Let’s talk about it,” Rossi suggested as he offered Hotch a handkerchief to wipe his sweat-moistened skin.

Hotch knew although the other members of the team would interpret Rossi’s words as a statement of concern, it was really an order from his Top.

“I’m not sure if you know that much about my upbringing, but I was physically abused by my father. He loved to use that old leather belt for other things besides holding up his pants. He was very hard on me and my mother. He didn’t get a chance to begin picking on my brother, Sean, because Sean was too young when dad passed. You see my dad died at forty-seven from a heart attack which was brought on by overwork and stress. He also wanted his family to be perfect. If I brought home anything less than A’s on my report card, or if I didn’t score a touchdown or a basket or anything else that he conceived would make him look bad, he would order me to his den, bend me over his old oak desk and give me a few hard smacks.” Hotchner paused in his story telling. It was like he was reliving the feeling of that pain once more.

“Well one day I was trying to get the barbecue going, used too much lighter fluid and set the whole thing ablaze. Of course, as luck would have it, a gust of wind decided to come around the corner just at that time, causing sparks to fly over to the clothes line and set his favorite or as he called it his lucky-win case shirt on fire. He was so pissed off; he didn’t even bother leading me into the den. He just took off that black leather weapon and headed my way. I took off like a shot, yelling for him to stay away from me but of course he caught up with me. He threw me over the hood of the car, pulled down my denims and shorts and let me have it good. It was the worst spanking he had ever given me. I swear the whole neighborhood could hear the sound of leather hitting skin. My poor mother did her best to put the flames out, but the damage was done. So you see, Dave, every time we have a case that deals with fire, I have nightmares for nights after.”

Rossi hadn’t interrupted Hotch as he gave his explanation. He just sat there and listened. How he wanted to take his Brat in his arms at this particular moment and give him the comfort and understanding he deserved, but he knew that would have to wait until later. What he did do however, was rub his shoulder in a gentle manner which spoke volumes to Hotch.

Rossi moved in closer so he could whisper into Hotch’s ear. “Aaron, I never knew about your father’s discipline. Maybe I shouldn’t be…..you know….”

“Oh Dave, don’t say that. You and I both know there’s a difference in what dad did to me and how you take me in hand. You do it out of love and concern. He did it out of anger and meanness.”

“I’m glad you feel that way. I knew the difference but I wanted to make sure you did.”

“I do. You and I both know I need what you give me.”

“Fine; now how about I fix you a drink and we join the others. They’re about to have anxiety attacks because of their concern for you. Let’s get over there and let them know everything is okay.”

The two men joined the others and for the rest of the trip, jokes were told and stories of past adventures were shared. All in all, it was a very pleasant journey.

When the jet had made its final decent and taxied to the hanger, the BAU team grabbed their belongings and began to disembark.

“Hey, Aaron,” Rossi slyly got the other man’s attention. “If you have no plans for this evening, why don’t you join me at my place? I have some great steaks in the freezer and a chilled bottle of wine which is meant to be shared. What do you say?”

“You mean you don’t have a woman lined up for just this occasion?” Hotchner replied just as coyly.

“Nay, she’s out of town. So what do you say? Are you up to eating my cooking?”

“Sure. Why not? I’m always up for new adventures. Count me in.”

‘Good-bye’ and ‘see you tomorrow’ rang out throughout the hangar as the team parted ways. Hotchner was sure that everyone could hear the pounding of his heart as he made his way to Rossi’s car. He knew this evening he would be sharing more than Rossi’s food; he would be sharing his bed and his body. He couldn’t wait.

************

Once the two men were finally alone in Rossi’s apartment, they reached for each other and their lips met with a hot passion that almost set off the smoke detector. Hotch parted his lips to give Rossi’s tongue easier access. He let out a deep moan as Rossi’s tongue explored every corner of his mouth and finally wrapped around his own. He let out another groan of pleasure when he felt Rossi’s hand move down between them to cup his penis.

Rossi kept giving the now hardening member gentle squeezes until he felt Hotch grow in his hand. He pulled away from Hotch’s lips, only to fall to his knees and unzip Hotchner’s suit pants to allow the now erect penis to escape.

“Oh God!” Hotch exclaimed as Rossi’s expert tongue took the engorged head into his sensuous mouth and began licking the pre-cum away. Slowly and expertly Rossi kept sucking away until Hotch was now completely filling his mouth.

“Oh……oh……oh…..” Hotch moaned between intakes of breath. “I think I’m going to faint from pleasure” He placed both hands on each side of Rossi’s head. His own head was bent back and his eyes glazed over as the first feelings of a hard orgasm began to grow in his belly.

Rossi placed his hands on the waistband of Hotch’s pants and underwear and pulled down, leaving the Unit Chief naked from the waist down. He moved his hands behind Hotchner to grasp his ass cheeks, all the while placing more pressure and pleasure on Hotch.

Rossi’s tongue wrapped around the base and then he moved his mouth off to blow on the head before taking the erect penis back into his mouth as much in as he could. He could feel Hotch’s legs tremble in anticipation. Rossi parted Hotch’s ass cheeks and gently inserted a finger in the tight channel. That was all Hotch needed. He let out another loud moan as he ejaculated into Rossi’s mouth and marvelled as his Top swallowed every drop being offered.

Rossi stoop up and gave Hotch another kiss. He could taste the remnants of himself on Rossi’s lips and became embarrassed at his sigh of pleasure.

“Jesus Dave, that was fantastic. I have never had a blow job like that before. Haley never liked giving oral pleasure so I think the last time I experienced anything close to what just happened here, was with the Home Coming Queen at my high school.”

“Well, I aim to please. Now why don’t you remove the rest of your clothes and jump into that shower you enjoy so much, while I make us something to eat?”

“Ah…..I thought…..hmm ….what about your pleasure? I figured you were going to take me…you know….”

“Ha! My, aren’t you an anxious, Brat of mine? I’m in no rush. After all, we have all night. What you fed me a minute ago was just an appetizer. I’m starving, so go do what you’re told. After a good steak and wine is when I’ll want dessert. Get going now.” Rossi gave Hotch a gentle swat on his bare backside and headed for the kitchen.

Hotch turned on his heals, removing his suit jacket, shirt and tie as he made his way into the master bath.

When he finally forced himself to escape those glorious jets, he dried himself off and grabbed a robe from the closet. Stepping out into the hallway, he allowed the smells to lead him into the dining room.

Rossi, he noticed had slipped into a pair of lounging pyjamas while the steak had cooked on the grill. He had set out the table with lovely china plates and crystal wine goblets. The wine was chilling in the ice bucket and candles were glowing throughout the room. Soft music was emanating from the surround-sound stereo system which set the scene perfectly.

Rossi walked over to Hotch and took him by the hand and led him to his seat. He pulled out the chair to allow Hotchner to sit. Once his lover was settled, he began serving.

The food was delicious. Hotchner commented on the quality of Rossi’s cooking abilities while he allowed his Top to pour him another glass of wine.

Once the meal was finished, Rossi got up off his chair, made his way around the table, pulled Hotch’s chair out, reached out a hand and pulled him to his feet. He took Aaron into his arms and slowly began to sway to the music. The dance at first was awkward, because both men were used to leading, so it took Hotch a moment or two to release control and allow Rossi to lead the way. Throughout the dance, they kissed and petted to the rhythm of the music. Hotch didn’t realize it, but before he knew it, he found himself in the hall that lead to the master bedroom.

Rossi looked into Hotch’s dark eyes and simply stated, “Time for dessert.” He lead the way into the bedroom. Inside he removed Hotch’s robe and stepped back to take a look.

“My my, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an appetizing dish and to think it’s not going to be fattening. He undressed himself, took Hotch by the hand and walked over to the bed. He pushed him unto his back in the middle of the giant king-size bed. Before joining him, Rossi opened up the drawer on the bedside table and took out a tube of lube. He squeezed some generously on the middle finger of his right hand. With his left hand, he spread Hotch’s legs wide until he was fully exposed. He slowly slipped the greased finger in Hotch’s anus, moving and rotating it in and out and making Hotch moan in pleasure, his hips bucking down in an attempt to make Rossi’s finger go deeper.

Hotchner gasped as Rossi inserted a second lubed finger. “Oh Dave, that feels…that….please….I want you…do it to me….take me.”

“Not yet, Aaron, calm down and relax. I want to stretch you a little more.” Rossi continued his stretching of Hotchner’s opening, thrusting his fingers deeper and harder into him as he leaned down and covered Hotch’s mouth with his own in a powerful, mind blowing kiss. His tongue quickly took control, making Hotch moan and buck wildly. Once he was convinced that Hotch was ready, Rossi pulled his fingers out, then reached down to spread Hotch’s ass cheeks wider before he slowly started to insert himself deep within the unexplored tunnel.

Hotch winced with the pain that was now shooting through his body. His eyes were closed tight and his teeth clamped down, trying to push away the pain.

Rossi looked worriedly down at the younger man beneath him, debating whether he should stop or just wait. “Aaron, are you okay? I’ll stop if you want me to.”

“No…no….don’t stop…just hold on a minute.” Hotch breathed out and Rossi did as he was asked. As Hotch waited for the pain to subside, the feeling of this man inside him started giving him the most erotic feeling of pleasure he had ever experienced. “Okay, Dave, I’m ready. Keep going, I really need you and want you badly.”

Before long, Rossi was moving slowly in and out, both men writhing in pleasure and both needing more. Before Rossi knew what he was doing, he took a tight hold of Hotch’s hips, pulling him down roughly as he thrust deep within him. He continued with the rough rhythm, growing more and more excited as he heard Hotch scream out in ecstasy.

“Damn, you’re tight, Aaron. Are you sure you’re okay? I’m not tearing or hurting you, am I?”

Hotch arched his back, moving with every thrust, his breathing thick and heavy as he tried to answer his second-in-command and his Top. “Oh Rossi, it feels wonderful. Please don’t stop!”

Rossi gave one more quick hard thrust before his climax ripped through his body, his semen pouring into Hotch. He collapsed on top of his lover then slowly started pulling out, making both men whimper with pleasure. Rossi then rolled over, pulling Hotch along with him to sit him on top of his stomach. “I think we need to take care of you now,” Rossi commented as he observed Hotch’s erection pointing straight up.

Hotch looked down at himself and he mumbled, “That would be a great idea.” He threw his head back, gasping loudly as he felt Rossi’s hands encircle his throbbing manhood, squeezing and stroking away.

Rossi continued to stroke Hotchner, moving his free hand down further until he was massaging roughly at Hotch’s balls. The sounds of pounding hearts and groans and moans of pleasure were bouncing off the walls as Rossi continued his task. After a few short moments, he felt Hotch tense up in his grasp and then hot cum was spurting all over Rossi’s chest and stomach. He looked up at his Brat and gave him a command. “Lick it up.”

“Uhhh….I….” Hotch felt himself turning red but without hesitation, he did as he was told. He leaned down and began washing Rossi with his tongue, cleaning up every last drop. He was rewarded with another hot, passionate kiss. Finally, breathless and worn out, Hotch collapsed into Rossi’s arms, laying his head on the strong chest of his Top and lover, relaxing as loving arms wrapped him in a cocoon of love and protection. His last thoughts before he fell asleep were, ‘Finally, what I’ve longed and searched for all my life was finally mine to enjoy.’ He closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep; Rossi wasn’t far behind.

They slept soundly in each other’s arms, only awaking when the sound of Rossi’s alarm clock echoed out its annoying buzz the next morning.

************

During breakfast, Rossi noticed Hotch having a little trouble sitting. “Are you sore, baby?” he asked.

“Maybe just a little, but it’s a good sore. You know what I mean.”

“Yeah, I think I do. Are you going to be able to go to work today?”

“Of course; I can’t miss that meeting with Straus. The old bitch will have a fit if I call in sick.”

“You didn’t tell me you had a meeting with Straus. What is it all about?”

“It’s nothing really. Just the monthly meeting she likes to hold to allow us underlings to kiss her ass. I don’t and it drives her around the bend.”

“Are you respectful to her, Aaron? I know she’s a bitch, but she is your superior.”

“To get respect you, have to deserve it. You know she deserves anything else but respect. But I do my best to try and keep my temper and tongue in check.”

“That’s all I ask of you. I know she’s a real pain in the ass. She was like that when I first worked here. Age and time haven’t mellowed her any.”

“Changing the subject; when will you want some more dessert?’

“Ha, very cute; but I don’t want to inflict any unnecessary pain on you, Aaron, so we’ll wait a few days.”

Hotch opened his mouth to reply but the set of Rossi’s jaw was a sign to leave it go. Instead he got up and announced, “I better get going. I have to run to my place and grab a new suit. If I show up at the office with the same suit I had on yesterday, everyone will start to wonder. Thanks for breakfast, but most of all thank you for last night.” He leaned in and gave Rossi a warm gentle kiss. “I love you, Dave.”

“I love you too, Aaron, and about last night; you’re welcome. The pleasure was mine.”

They kissed again before Hotch departed. “Meet you at the office,” Hotch yelled over his shoulder as he made his way to his car, then sped off.

************

Morgan was the first face Hotch saw when the elevator doors opened. “Hey, boss, how was Rossi’s cooking?”

“Not bad. I especially loved the dessert he served up.”

“Oh, yeah. What kind was it?”

“I don’t know; something with oozing cream. It was some delicious.”

Standing by Prentess’ desk, Rossi overheard the exchange. He couldn’t help himself. He burst out laughing at Hotch’s play on words. If Morgan only knew that this non-smiling, serious man standing in front of him had a terrific and cunning sense of humor.

They both turned to look over at Rossi. “What’s so funny?” Reid asked as he stepped into the room.

“I just found Hotch’s explanation of the dessert I served him humorous. It is called cream pie, Hotch.”

“Oh, is that what they call it these days? Fine. Derek, to answer your question; Dave served a lovely meal followed by some delicious cream pie.”

Morgan shrugged his indifference but couldn’t help catching the small twinkle in Hotch’s eyes as he looked over at Rossi. ‘That must have been some night,’ he thought to himself.

If he only knew!

The End……..for now.

Don’t Blame Yourself or Else

Written by: D’be-D’be

Note to Criminal Minds Fans: For those of you who watch Criminal Minds religiously and are presently watching Season Five, you will know what goes on between Hotch and Foyet. This story is based on Omnivore from Season 4 when Foyet is first introduced to us, so at this time in the storyline we have no idea what faces Hotch in the future.

Chief Service Supervisor David Rossi had just stepped out of the elevator into the hall leading to the outer offices for BAU headquarters of the FBI in Quantico Virginia, when Emily Prentess came brushing past him with tears in her eyes. As she tried to rush by she collided with Rossi, almost sending his coffee cup into orbit.

Trying to hide her tears from her colleague, she turned her head and mumbled, “Sorry, Rossi, I didn’t see you there.”

A look of concern came over the older man’s face as he set his coffee cup down on an empty desk top in order to establish physical contact with the young woman before him. He took her hand in his and gently inquired, “Emily, what’s wrong? Why are you so upset?”

“You tell me what’s wrong, Rossi?’’ Prentess asked as she struggled to contain her emotions. “I was just in Hotch’s office giving him my final report on the Boston Reaper case and he threw in my face what he said was a forgot a very important element in it. When I asked him to clarify, he just got up from his desk and gave me that cold stare of his. You know the one I mean. And he told me to stop being so coy. He then began to scold me about how my reports were never complete and he was not about to put up with it any longer. Rossi, this is the first time I’ve been told that my reports were unsatisfactory. I don’t know what his problem is, but he doesn’t have to take it out on me.”

Rossi’s brown eyes moved up over the upset woman’s head to take a glance at the Unit Chief’s office. He could see Hotch at his desk with his head bent and reading something. What, he wasn’t sure. He allowed his eyes to move back to Prentess’ face.

“I’ll speak with him about it,” he offered.

“Rossi, I think before you speak to Mr. Attitude that you speak to the other members of the team. I don’t think I’m the only one Hotch has yelled at. I know for sure he gave Garcia some attitude yesterday when he was in her office, because I went in a few minutes afterwards and it was quite obvious to me that she was upset over something.”

Rossi let out a sigh as he once again glanced up at Hotch’s office. “Okay, Emily, I’ll do that. In the meantime, why don’t you go for a walk and get your head together and your emotions set right. If something comes up regarding a case, we’ll let you know. Go ahead and take the rest of the morning off; go shopping, pamper yourself or just go for a walk. It’s up to you. Just get out here for awhile.”

The tall brunette’s eyes filled up with tears once more as she leaned in and gave the handsome man before her a warm kiss on the cheek. Rossi knew the kiss meant nothing more than simple gratitude and his smile let the woman know he understood that. He picked up his coffee cup to take a drink as he watched Prentess exit the building but realized it was now cold. Dropping it in the nearest trash bid, he headed down to the technical part of the building to speak with Garcia.

Garcia was on the phone to her new love when Rossi tapped on the door. He knew she was speaking to Kevin just by the seductive tone in her voice. He smiled to himself as he remembered what that tone in a woman’s voice lead to. He cleared his throat and then knocked again. Penelope turned in her seat, her face taking on a scarlet glow for being caught in an intimate moment. She quickly said her good-byes and hung up the phone as Rossi made his way into her private domain and took a seat.

“What can I do for you, sir?” she asked. “I’m still working on that file for you…”

Rossi interrupted her. “Thank you, Garcia, but that’s not what I wanted to speak to you about.”

“Oh, oh I see. Is there something wrong, sir? Did I do something….”

Rossi could tell she was not very comfortable having someone invade her space and the thought that she may have upset someone or made a mistake always disturbed this special lady. Rossi came to realize that first hand when he scolded her that one time for taking FBI files home.

“You did nothing wrong, Garcia. That’s what I wanted to speak to you about. Did Hotch accuse you of neglecting your duty or some other matter?”

“How did you know, sir?” Garcia was always amazed on how these profilers picked up on emotions. She knew Prentess had suspected something the other day after Hotchner left her office. She must have said something to Rossi.

“A little bird told me. Now, what did our Unit Chief do or say that upset you?”

“Well, sir, the other day he came storming in here and asked me if I was keeping track of anything suspicious that may have Foyet’s signature profile on it. I told him no because I wasn’t asked to do so. He got all flushed in the face and snapped that if I cared for the well-being of potential victims out there, I would take it on myself to keep an eye on news reports and police investigations. Sir, you know me; no one has more empathy for the victims than I do and before I could respond to his comment, he just mumbled on his way out of the room something like ‘It doesn’t matter, all the victims families will get in touch with me when they learn it’s my fault that animal is on the loose’. What did he mean by that, sir?”

“Garcia, you never mind your pretty little self about anything Hotch told you. You did nothing wrong and I want you to know that and after I have a little chat with him, he’ll come to realize that as well. Keep up the outstanding job that you do. We’re so lucky to have you on our team.” Before he turned to leave, he gave her a pat on the back.

Garcia smiled up at him, all the while debating in her mind if she should share a detail about another colleague that Hotch upset. Before Rossi stepped into the hallway, she called him back in.

“Sir, if you could spare another moment. I don’t take to gossip but I think you should know that Hotch also gave Morgan a hard time yesterday. So much so that my chocolate delight thought about asking for a transfer out of the unit. Just for a split second, mind you. But whatever went on between those two upset him.”

“Thanks again, Garcia.” Rossi exited the office to locate Morgan. On his way, he mumbled to himself. “I guess that little discussion I had in the alley after the bus incident didn’t take root. Well the next discussion I have with him truly will. He may not be able to plant himself in a chair for a while, but the point will get through.”

Rossi found Morgan making himself a cup of coffee and carrying on a weird conversation with Reid about the technology that everyone gained from watching Star Trek.

“Look, Morgan, at the cell phone. That’s a Star Fleet Communicator if I ever saw one.”

“You’re really reaching there, genius,” Morgan retorted. He was about to make another point when Rossi interrupted him.

“Sorry to disturb this stimulating conversation, Derek. May I have a word with you please?’

“Sure. Excuse us, kid. But don’t go far, I want to continue this conversation.”

“Anytime, anywhere, Morgan; you know where to find me.”

Rossi let out a chuckle as he led Morgan to his own office on the second floor. He closed the door and offered Morgan a seat.

“What’s this all about, Rossi?”

“Hotch. I hear you and he got into a little disagreement yesterday.”

“Did Garcia tell you that? I told her to leave it alone.”

“Don’t blame her. I was speaking to her about Hotch upsetting her and the topic just came up.”

“What is wrong with that man? Ever since we got back from Boston and Foyet escaped, he’s been a bear. Yesterday afternoon, he called me into his office and told me he was keeping on eye on me and he stated in order for me to take over the team I better step up to the bat. He accused me of sloppy paperwork and being too egotistical for my own good. He told me that he knew I always had to be right about everything, play the hero, and that I sometimes put myself above the team. You know that’s way off the mark, Dave. Yes, I may have a little ego, but I never and I mean never put myself above the team. When I asked him what he meant about taking over the team, he stated that sooner or later Strauss would ask him to step down because it was his fault all those people died on the bus and he had the blood of all Foyet’s future victims on his hands.”

“Oh for Pete’s sake!” Rossi let out a frustrating growl. “He’s really going overboard with the self-pity and blame game, isn’t he?”

“You can say that again and if he doesn’t lighten the hell up, he’s going to alienate the whole team and then where will we be?”

“I’ll take care of it, Derek. Don’t worry about it. Soon he’ll be back to his old self.”

“How are you going to do that?”

“Let’s just say I have my methods of getting through that thick skull of Hotch’s. I have a way of making my words hit home and be clearly understood.”

“Well you better do it now, before he spirals into even more trouble.”

“I intend to do just that. I’m going to get him out of here and when we return, I promise he’ll apologize to you all.”

“Good luck, man.”

“Luck has nothing to do with it. It’s all a matter of handling and clarity of words.” Rossi didn’t add that his words would be written on a wooden paddle.

Rossi walked down the hall and entered Hotchner’s office without knocking. “Get your coat. We’re going to my place.”

“I can’t right now. I have this paper work to finish.”

“Aaron, this is not a request. It is an order and don’t make me have to give it twice. Now get your coat and come with me.”

‘Damn,’ Hotchner thought to himself. ‘Rossi must have found out about my treatment of Prentess.’ He knew he was in deep trouble.

Rossi practically pushed him to his car and when he knew they were out of range of the security cameras, he gave Hotch a hard swat on his backside.

“Ow!” Hotch squealed as he placed a hand on the tender spot.

“That’s nothing to what is waiting for you at my place. You pretended to comprehend my words about blame. But you had no intentions of keeping your promise to me that you were going to stop blaming yourself for not taking the deal, did you? So, young man, you are about to face the consequences of those actions and breaking the rules of blame and disrespect to myself and to the rest of the team.”

Hotch opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.

“Keep your mouth shut. I don’t want to hear another word out of you until I give you permission to do speak. You sit your butt in this car and take the time on the way to the apartment to think about what you did to lead to this moment and how you’re going to rectify the situation.”

Rossi jumped into the driver’s seat and sped out of the parking lot. The tension was so thick in the SUV, you could cut it with a knife. Hotch was so nervous about what he knew was about to take place, he kept squirming around in his seat.

“If you don’t sit still, Brat, I’ll pull over right here and really give you a reason to squirm.”

Hotch opened his mouth to speak but, remembering his Top’s orders, shut it again. He took a deep breath and kept his eyes down, studying the pattern on the floor mat for the next twenty minutes until they reached Rossi’s place.

Once inside, Rossi gave Hotch the order to get the paddle out of the drawer. Hotch did as he was told, all the while swallowing the huge lump that was forming in his throat. Taking the paddle back to Rossi, he stood there in front of his Top and waited. He didn’t have to wait long. Rossie walked over to the couch and sat down. He then ordered Hotch to remove his pants and undershorts and assume the familiar position.

Hotch took his time undoing his belt but the look in Rossi’s eyes gave him the incentive to speed up the rest of the stripping process. He kicked off his shoes and followed up by dropping his slacks and undershorts. He also removed his suit jacket and tie but kept the white shirt on. He didn’t know why he chose to do that, but not being completely naked gave him a small sense of security. He walked over to Rossi and lowered himself over his Top’s lap.

“Alright, Aaron, you have permission to speak. Tell me why this is necessary.”

“I-I’m still blaming myself for Foyet’s escape and all the victims he killed on the bus. I tried to not do that but being alone with my thoughts every night and having nightmares about what he did, just made the blame come back to the forefront.”

“Why didn’t you tell me about the nightmares?”

“I guess I thought I could handle it, but I know now I didn’t do a very good job. I’m sorry.”

“Good. Now I want you to count off every slap so you’ll realize how bad of a job you did. Ready now?” Rossi landed the paddle hard on Hotch’s left cheek.

“One,” Hotch counted as he jumped with the pain. He continued to count as the paddle landed in hard, but slow steady strokes building to an unbearable heat. By the time it reached thirty, he was sobbing loudly and shaking with the pain.

Rossi dropped the paddle and then rearranged Hotch on his lap. Hotch grabbed a hold of Rossi as tightly as he could and just let the tears flow. Rossi didn’t speak. He just rocked his Brat back and forth until the tears began to subside. Finally the sounds of pain and guilt began to dwindle down to short hiccups.

“I’m so sorry, Dave. I-I guess I really blew it, eh?”

“Hotch, you above most people know the consequences of breaking the rules. So yeah, in a way you blew it, but no major harm done. The rest of your punishment is to write a five page essay about respecting the feelings of your fellow co-workers. You will also go to each of them, offer a verbal apology and ask them to forgive you. Finally, and this is the most important part, you will stop thinking about Foyet. If I find you looking into any aspects of this case, I promise you the worse spanking you have ever received. Is that clear?”

“Yes Sir, very clear. Thank you, Sir, for your understanding.”

“Fine; but what’s with all these ‘Sir’ business?”

“I had to call Gideon ‘Sir’ after each punishment session.”

“Oh, Aaron honey; I don’t want you to call me sir. I’m more that just someone who lays down the law to you. I want to become your lover and confidant, your companion and your confessor.”

“Oh Dave, you don’t know how much I longed to hear you say that. I want…no…I need that as well.”

Rossi took a chance. He placed his hand on the back of Hotchner’s neck and pulled him towards his lips. He kissed his Brat with the deep-seeded passion that had lain dormant for such a long period of time.

Hotch reciprocated and found himself becoming aroused. This both excited and scared him. He pushed away from Rossi, who lowered his eyes to look at Hotch’s semi-erect penis.

“Well, what do we have here?” Rossi asked as he looked back up into the reddened face of the man sitting on his lap.

“I-I-I guess I liked the kiss,” Hotch mumbled with down cast eyes.

“I kinda guessed that. Look, baby, I think we better cool off for the moment. I don’t want your first time with me to be rushed. I want to make love to you, not just have sex. Why don’t you get up, get dressed and go wash your face. We will continue this part of the conversation later.”

“When?”

“Later, when I know you’re really ready for it. Now go on and do what I told you to do.”

“Dave, I can’t tell you enough how grateful I am for what you took on. I feel so much better.”

“You make it sound like I took on something I really didn’t want to. You know it’s more than that. So I don’t want to hear that kind of talk again, okay?”

“Understood, and Dave?”

“Yes, Aaron.”

“I’m falling in love with you. You know that, right?”

“Oh I think I may have figured that out. Now go get cleaned up; we have to get back to the office.”

The Unit Chief took a deep breath as the elevator doors opened. He searched the room for Prentess and Morgan. He found them around J.J.’s desk, looking at baby pictures. The pang of missing his own son shot through his heart but he brushed it aside for a moment. He had a task to complete and he wasn’t about to let Rossi or his team down again.

“Emily, Derek, will you please come with me to Garcia’s office?” Hotch lead the way assured the two other members of the BAU would follow. They looked at each other and the look that passed between the two of them said it all. That must have been some talk Rossi had with their boss. They could see the remnants of redness in his eyes when he spoke to them.

Hotch tapped on Garcia’s door, then stepped aside to allow Morgan and Prentess to enter. When all four of them were alone, Hotch cleared his throat and began his little speech.

“I debated as to whether to do this individually or in a group and decided the group method was better, but if any one of you want to discuss this apology further or my deplorable behavior towards you, please feel free to do so. Words alone will never express how bad I feel about how I treated you. I don’t want to make excuses about my behaviour; just put it into contexts. I was so wrapped up in my own self-pity I didn’t even realize how my actions and mood was affecting everyone. Emily, your report was perfect as usual and Garcia, I am so lucky and feel privileged to have you on my team. You and your cleaver mind and fingers are one of the reasons this team is so successful. Morgan, I want to assure you, that you have the talent to take over this team any time that task is dumped upon you. I know and I am so sorry for calling you selfish and absorbed as you are neither of those things. I hope you all can find it in your hearts to forgive me and give me the opportunity to make it up to you.”

Hotch hadn’t realized it but during his apology, a silent tear fell from his eye and made its way down his cheek. This more than his words touched his colleagues deeply. They knew the apology was sincere and that it came from the heart.

Morgan shook his hand and gave him an ‘all’s forgiven’ slap on the back. Prentess and Garcia both gave him a giant hug and a small peck on the wet cheek. Garcia went one step further. She reached up and with a gentle touch, she brushed the tear away.

“Thank you for your forgiveness. Let’s try to put this incident and this awful case behind us and move on to the next one because as you all know, there will always be a next one.”

The four FBI agents parted ways. Rossi was waiting in the hallway and by the smile on their faces and the relieved look in Hotchner’s eyes, he determined all went well.

“Hotch?” Rossi whispered as Hotch passed by. “J.J. just handed me a new case file. I want you to know, when this one is over, I want you to come home with me and we’ll finish our conversation of this afternoon, agreed?”

A smile that is rarely seen on the Unit Chief’s face spread from ear to ear as he answered. “Oh most definitely; I most surely agree. Yes.”

Letting out a loud chuckle, Rossi replied with a simple “Yes Sir would have sufficed.”

Getting the point that Rossi was teasing him, Hotchner also laughed. Then, with Rossi by his side, he made his way into the case room.

The End…..for now.

A New Top For Hotchner

Written by: D’be-D’be

Aaron Hotchner was at his desk. Due to the recent injury he’d suffered when the SUV blew up, his ears were giving him great discomfort. He looked over at the bottle of pain medication the doctor described but fought the urge to take a couple. He couldn’t afford to be less than sharp in front of his team. That’s not the way he was built. He never wanted to show any signs of weakness or loss of control because in his mind it made him a weak leader and that’s the last thing he wanted to be envisaged as.

When Jason Gideon was part of the team, he had on occasion taken Hotch in hand and allowed him to break down the walls and let the emotions flow. But Gideon was gone and Hotch had no one. Just the thought of how Gideon gave him release made Hotch’s backside ache with the memories of wood slapping bare skin.

He started to lay his head down on his desk when he heard a soft knock, followed by a ‘can I come in’, from behind his door. The question came from Gideon’s replacement, David Rossi. Rossi was the man who started the BAU and after retirement became a very famous writer and lecturer. He came out of his retirement for a couple of reasons; one being that he wanted to help the team, while the other he kept to himself.

“Hey Dave, come on in.” Hotch was very comfortable around this man. He had met Rossi when he came to the Seattle office where Hotchner was stationed for his first assignment after graduating from the FBI Academy in Quantico Virginia. As they worked a case together, they became close friends and kept in touch over the years.

“Hey Aaron, what did the doctor say about your ears?”

“She told me I had Hyperacusis which is the reason for my temporary hearing loss. She also told me I shouldn’t be around loud noises for awhile and gave me medication for the pain.”

“It really hurts, eh?”

“Yes, the pain is quite uncomfortable but bearable. It won’t affect my work.”

“What about flying? Can you fly?”

The doctor had told Hotchner he shouldn’t fly until the condition was cleared up. As a matter of fact, he had promised he wouldn’t fly if she cleared him to go back to work; but he had lied to the doctor and he was about to lie to his second in command.

“Yes I’m cleared to fly, so let’s get to our next assignment.”

The next assignment was in Lower Cannon, Ohio where murders were being committed with the same M.O. as a serial killer who had been executed a year ago. The team had to help the local authorities determine who the copy-cat killer was.

As the plane increased altitude, Rossi and Morgan both took notice of how Hotchner cringed in pain.

“Hey man, are you alright?” Morgan asked his boss.

“Yes, I’m fine.”

“Are you sure you are cleared to fly?” Rossi asked.

With sharpness in his tone, Hotch snapped back. “Why would I say I was if I wasn’t? Now let’s just drop it and concentrate on the profile.”

He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth against the pounding in his ears as the plane climbed higher and higher. His discomfort did not go unnoticed by the team and they all looked at each other with concern. Rossi shrugged his shoulders and began going over the files that lay before them.

When they landed at the local airport and began disembarking, Rossi’s cell phone began to vibrate. He took it out of his coat pocket and flipped it open. He had to read the text message twice to realize who it was from. It simply stated, ‘Gideon here. Will call you in five minutes. Make sure you are alone.”

Rossi told the rest of the team he forgot something on the plane and that he would catch up to them in a bit. He then re-entered the jet and sat to wait for his phone to ring. Exactly five minutes from when the text came in, his phone rang.

“Hello David. How are things?”

“My God Jason, where are you?”

“It doesn’t matter where I am. What matters now is Aaron’s state of mind.”

“How do you know about Aaron’s state of mind?”

“I’ve been keeping tabs on my…uh, what should I call him….my brat.”

“Your what? Your Brat? I don’t understand.”

“Don’t play coy with me, Rossi. You know exactly what I’m talking about. From time to time, I had to take Hotchner in hand and give him a sound spanking in order to give him release from his pent up emotions. You know how tightly wound up he can be in the best of times and now with everything going on around him; his wife filing for divorce and his colleague killed in that SUV bombing, he needs to let go and cry it out. But he won’t. What he needs is a good solid spanking with a paddle until he breaks. There’s no one else I trust to carry out that task other than you.”

“How do you know that?”

“I’ve investigated you, Rossi. I know at one time you had a young man you ‘took care of” in times of stress, so I know you will be perfect to take over my duties with Hotch.”

“Okay, Jason, you’re on to me. Can I ask you a personal question?”

“Are you going to ask if we were lovers?”

“Yes.”

“I think Aaron wanted to be. I know I wanted it. But he was married at the time and the thought of cheating on Haley was against his moral standards. Now that they are no longer together, and if you both are so inclined, I think he would enjoy being made love to. Are you so inclined, David?

“Yes. As a matter of fact I’ve fantasized now and then of having Hotch as my lover.”

“Fine! Also about the discipline, you have to take control. Be a strong Top, he needs it. Take total control of him, David. The rules I laid down were no lying or stressing out, no blaming himself for something that he had no control over, and finally, don’t be too snappy or bossy to the crew. And oh yes, he has to let you know if Erin Straus gives him a hard time. He had no say in these rules and don’t you give him any say in them either. That is what Hotch needs. Do you understand?”

“Yes, but where do I start?”

“Well, how about being lied to?”

“Hotch hasn’t lied to me….or has he? Jason, he isn’t cleared to fly, is he?”

“No he is not. As a matter of fact, he lied to the doctor. He promised her he wouldn’t fly either.”

“How do you know this?”

“Never mind. Let’s just say I have my sources.”

“When you get back to Washington, I suggest you take him home and show him the consequences of lying to you.”

“Oh I plan to.”

“One more thing before I let you go. When you get back to the office, look in the top drawer of your desk. I left you a little present. When Aaron sees it, he will know exactly what is in store for him.”

“Thanks, Jason. How can I get in touch with you in the future?”

“You can’t. I will contact you from time to time. If it’s an emergency, just put an ad in the Washington Post stating that you’re looking for a paddle for your boat and I’ll be in touch.”

With those final words the line went dead. Rossi sat still for a moment, letting all that Gideon told him sink in. He smiled to himself at the thought of what was waiting for Hotch when they got home.

************************

The case had its ups and downs. But finally, the serial killer who turned out to be the female lover of the executed man was cornered. It did not end well; especially for Hotch, who was standing too close to one of the officers as he shot the woman. The sound of the gun exploding in his ears set off the worst pain he’d ever encountered. It was so painful he doubled up and placed his hands over his ears to somehow ease the rush. Rossi was by his side in a split second, placing his arm around the BAU head and staying with him until the pain subsided. Although Rossi saw tears welling up in Hotchner’s eyes, he also noticed the hard blinking to avoid spillage.

The pain finally eased enough for Hotchner to stand upright. Rossi kept his hand over Hotch’s shoulder until he felt the trembling in the agent’s body subside.

“Where’s your medication, Hotch?”

“In the glove compartment in the SUV.”

Rossi pushed Hotch down until he was sitting on the grass with his back against one of the police vehicles. He then rushed to the black vehicle, and grabbed the pills and a bottle of water before returning to the scene.

“Here, take one of these and I’ll drive you back to the hotel. Morgan can finish up here.”

“But…”

“No buts, Aaron. If you want to call it an order then do so, but you’re going back to the hotel to rest right now.”

“You can’t order me around. I’m the supervising agent here.”

“You may be, but I still have enough seniority on you which gives me the right to order you around from time to time. Now get your butt into the van.”

For a split second, Hotchner thought he heard a familiar tone to that order but shrug it off. He opened his mouth to argue again but something in Rossi’s eyes stopped him. Instead he walked over to the van and without another word, slipped into the passenger seat. He sat there in silence as Rossi slipped in behind the wheel. He kept up the silent treatment all the way to the hotel and up to the room.

“Give me the key to your room,” Rossi demanded.

Hotchner did as he was told this time, too groggy to put up any more arguments. Rossie helped him into the room, undressed him, and then put him to bed.

“I’m keeping the key so I can slip in later and check up on you. And oh yeah, Aaron, by the way, you’re driving back tomorrow, right?”

“Yeah, I guess I better. The plane ride may be too much for me.”

When Rossi left the room, Hotchner was already fast asleep.

Rossi checked up on his new responsibility several times during the night and finally at 7:00 am, he shook Hotchner awake.

“Hey Hotch, time to get up. The team is meeting at the scene one more time before we head off. After breakfast, we’ll join them there. Then I’ll catch a ride back to the plane with Morgan and you can take one of the SUV’s back to the city. Okay?”

Sitting up and rubbing his eyes at the same time, Hotch took a minute to wake up and familiarize himself with his surroundings. After taking a sip of the coffee Rossi had placed on the bureau for him, he looked up at the older agent standing by the bed and nodded in agreement.

They met the rest of the team around 8:30 am. After the team gave the team leader their final report, they began to pack up and head back to the airport. Hotchner took the keys from Rossi’s outstretched hand and headed over to the van.

“Hotch, take your time getting back. On the way, I want you to think about a couple of things. One, what are the consequences of lying. Two, what are the consequences of putting yourself in danger of loosing your hearing permanently. Also, when you get back to the city I want you to come directly to my place. Is that understood?”

“Your place? Why?”

“I asked you a question. Is that understood?”

“I understand what you said, but I don’t understand why.”

“Well I’ll give you a hint. Gideon contacted me and we had a long talk about you and him, and how I would be taking over that role.”

Rossi smiled as he saw Hotchner’s face go pale white then deep red as the full impact of Rossi’s last statement hit home.

“You mean…..you mean you’re going to take over being my Top?”

“Give that boy a cigar. Now get going and remember when you get to the city, it’s straight to my place for a little discussion.”

“What if I don’t want you to take over that role?”

“You have no choice in the matter. Gideon and I already spoke about it. Now get going.”

“I want to talk to Gideon. Give me his number.”

“I don’t have it. But don’t worry; I’m sure he’ll be in touch. Now get going and I’ll see you in a few days. Here’s a spare key to my place. If I’m not there, let yourself in and make yourself at home. Grab a bite or a shower; whatever you want. Give me a call to let me know you arrived and I’ll get home as quickly as I can.”

******************************

Hotch had just booked himself into a bed-and-breakfast located on the road home, when his cell phone rang. He recognized the voice immediately and tears welled up in his eyes.

“How’s my favorite super agent?”

“Oh Jason, I miss you so much. I need you so much.”

“I know you do, Aaron, but I’m no good for you now. I’m going through to much stuff myself. But I’m leaving you in the capable hands of David Rossi.”

“I know, he told me. I’m not sure I want him to…..”

Gideon cut him off. “Listen, baby; I can’t leave you in any more capable hands than Rossi. He’s very experienced in the Top role. He’ll be good for you and good to you. He cares deeply for you. You need someone, Aaron. You know that and I can’t be there for you anymore. Do you trust my judgment?”

“Always.”

“Enough said then. Now I told David what the rules are and he may come up with a few of his own. Don’t argue; just let yourself go and trust in him as you trusted in me. Okay?”

Hotchner was crying now and he didn’t care. He didn’t know exactly why he was crying. Maybe it was hearing Gideon’s voice again, or the fact that he was finally going to get a new Top. It was probably a combination of both. Whatever the reason, it didn’t matter. What mattered was that he was finally letting out some of the guilt and grief he felt over the loss of the agent he lost in the bombing.

Gideon stayed on the line with his Brat until he was sure he was calm enough to fall asleep. He reassured him once more about David Rossi, and then hung up. Soon after, Hotchner was fast asleep.

***************************

It took Hotch about four days to make it back into the city and as he was ordered to do, he went directly to Rossi’s home. After ringing the bell a couple of times and getting no reply, he let himself in. It was the first time he was in Rossi’s apartment. It was spacious but had a homey, comfortable feeling to it. One wall was lined with books; many Rossi wrote himself. Walking into the bedroom, Hotch opened up the closet to find a wide variety of suits, shoes and accessories. Nothing was overly flashy however. Although Rossi was a millionaire due to the success of his books, he didn’t throw it up in anyone’s faces. He kept it down to earth and simple.

Hotch walked into the huge master bath and noticed one of those closed-in showers that had shower heads positioned around the shower to give the user a perfect shower and massage. He also noticed a whirlpool tub that looked very appealing as well. Looking over at the shower once again, he decided that would be his choice. He stripped down and turned the water on, closing the door to allow the temperature to get to the proper setting. Next, he flipped open his cell phone and gave Rossi a call. It went straight to voice mail.

“Hi David, it’s Hotch. Just got into your place and decided to take you up on your offer of a shower. See you when you get in.”

The super jets felt absolutely glorious. Every part of his body was massaged and tingled with total relaxation. He’d have to ask Rossi for permission to use this wondrous device again.

He had just stepped out and began wiping himself off when the sound of the key suddenly made him shiver. He knew the goose bumps on his arms weren’t due to the temperature inside the bathroom, because the room was still extremely warm. No, he knew he was shivering with both anticipation and trepidation at what was about to take place between Rossi and himself.

“Aaron, are you still in the shower?”

Hotchner pulled the door open and answered back. “I’m just finishing up. Give me a moment to dress and I’ll be right out.”

“Don’t bother putting any pants on, because in a minute or so they’ll just be around your ankles. Make it easier on yourself and just wrap a towel around your waist and get out here.”

Hotchner hesitated for a moment as he ran the options he now faced. Should he do as he was told and give himself over to this man, or should he get dressed and quickly vacant the premises? He was still pondering his choices when the bathroom door swung open and Rossi stood in the doorway with a very familiar looking object in his right hand.

“Look what Gideon left for me in the desk drawer. It looks well used.”

Hotchner lowered his head; his eyes looking down at the floor as blood rushed into his face giving his cheeks a rosy glow.

“Okay, are you ready for this, Hotch, or do you want to leave? It’s up to you. But remember, if you decide to allow me to become your Top there’s no turning back. If you walk away, there will not hard feelings either. We’ll just go on as if this moment never happened.”

“I wasn’t sure at first. But seeing you with that paddle in your hand and remembering that although I hated getting spanked, the release made me feel so good afterwards. I know I need someone to look after me and after Jason, I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have. I accept you, David, and all the rules you set up for me.”

“Very good. Gideon already told me the rules you had to abide by and they will be the same with me. Right now I can’t think of any new ones to add, but if I do you’ll be the first to know. Now, young man, follow me into the bedroom. When we get in there, I want you to remove your towel and place yourself over my lap. Understood?”

“Yes sir.”

Rossi turned on his heal and lead Hotchner into the bedroom. He took his place at the edge of the huge king-size bed. With eyes cast down Hotchner removed the towel, then did as ordered and placed himself over Rossi’s lap.

He held his breath awaiting the first blow, not knowing if Rossi would be gentle or rough, or how hard he would administer the punishment or long it would go on. He didn’t have to wait long. Rossi began by gently rubbing Hotchner’s bare backside. Then with a slow steady rhythm, he began slapping him with the wooden paddle; one cheek at a time with quick gentle spanks until Hotchner’s skin began to glow into a nice pink shade. Eventually the pace picked up as did the strength with which Rossi began to land the paddle on bare skin.

“Do you understand why you’re being punished, Aaron?”

“I think so.”

“You think so? Not good enough, Aaron.” Rossi landed four hard slaps on Hotchner’s buttocks, causing the agent to jump in pain.

“Oww, Dave…..owww……oh God, you really have mastered that thing.”

“Once more, Aaron. Why are you being punished?” The question was followed by four more powerful slaps.

“I lied to you, the team and the doctor about flying.”

“You certainly did, Aaron. Three lies, and for what purpose?”

“Oww…..Oww!” Hotchner’s voice began to quiver as the pain took over his resistance.

“I asked you a question?”

“I tried to proof to everyone that I was alright and capable of doing something I knew in my heart I couldn’t. I didn’t want to show weakness to the team. I’m so sorry.”

That confession, along with the burning sensation on his bare butt, finally broke down the wall of resistance Hotchner always wrapped around himself and he allowed the tears to flow. Once they started, he couldn’t control them. Deep sobs wracked his body as he cried with the pain of his ears, his butt and for the loss of his fallen comrade.

Rossi threw the paddle aside and rolled his colleague onto the bed. He followed seconds later and took Hotchner into his arms and rocked him lovingly as he gently rubbed his back.

“There you go, Hotch, let it all out. Atta boy, cry all you want. I’m right here and I’ll hold you until you know everything will be alright.”

Hotchner’s dark eyes looked into Rossi’s blue orbs and saw salvation. He snuggled up as close as he could, wrapping himself up in a cocoon of safety and love. It wasn’t long until he had cried himself to sleep.

************************************

He slept for over an hour, slowly awaking in the same position as he had fallen asleep, wrapped securely in Rossi’s arms.

“Hi there, feel better?” Rossi asked

“It’s like a 100lb gorilla has been lifted off me. I feel wonderful.”

“I’m so pleased.” Rossi smiled as he pushed Hotchner out of his arms to sit up against the head rest. He reached out a hand and brushed a dark strand of hair from his new Brat’s eyes. Taking a chance, he lowered his head and placed a slow, gentle kiss on Hotchner’s lips.

At first Hotchner did not respond, but suddenly Rossi felt the pressure on his own lips as Hotch hesitantly returned the kiss. Once again embarrassed, Hotch pulled away.

“I’m sorry, Hotch. I shouldn’t have assumed that our relationship would be more than what you had with Jason.”

“Don’t be sorry, Dave. I really enjoyed the kiss. It’s just that I….I’ve never been with a man before.”

“Have you wanted to?”

“Oh yes, and I know Jason wanted to be my lover but he respected my values enough to know while I was married, I would never consider cheating on Haley with either gender.”

“But you’re not married anymore now, are you?”

Hotch allowed a small smile at the corner of his mouth as he whispered, “No, I’m not.”

“But…..”

“Could we take this real slow, Dave? I would like to get used to you as my Top before I take you as my lover. Please don’t be upset.”

“Oh Hotch, I’m not upset. I understand completely. Let’s agree to take this one step at the time. But remember, I’m an impatient man and I won’t wait forever.”

“I don’t expect you to. Just give me a little time and I promise the wait will be worth it.”

Rossi let out a loud chuckle as he pulled Hotch back into his arms. “Let’s get some more sleep. I’m sure when we get back to the office JJ will have another case for us.”

“Oh I know we can count on that.”

“Another thing, Hotch, before you fall asleep; I just want to inform you that we have an appointment with your doctor tomorrow morning at 11:00am. So if there is a new case, you will not be going anywhere until the doctor and I say you can, right?”

“Yes sir. And Dave, one more thing before I close my eyes…”

“What?” Rossie asked.

“Thank you,” Hotchner replied and then closed his eyes.

“You’re welcome,” Rossi whispered into Hotchner’s ear. As he fell into a peaceful sleep, one thought kept running through his mind; it was going to be great being Hotchner’s new Top.

The End……for now!
